Tyson's Chance Animal Foundation

Animal rescue in Shelbyville, KY

Tyson's Chance Animal Foundation Inc. was founded in February 2011. Tyson's specializes in the rescue of special needs animals. We are known for taking in dogs with severe issues, be it medical, behavioral, or just the ones that nobody wants. About 50% of our animals are considered "special needs." We love Pit Bulls and senior dogs. We love to heal the sick and rehabilitate the misunderstood. We also adopt out puppies, kittens, and adults with no issues at all. Tyson's rescues all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. All of our rescues are located at Shelburne Pet Center, 353 Kentucky St. Shelbyville, KY, a handful can be in foster at any time.

Additional adoption info

We are appointment-only but can accommodate any schedule! Tyson's Chance is run entirely by dedicated volunteers and we cannot accommodate "drop-ins." Please do not show up at our boarding facility without an appointment. We appreciate your understanding that adopting a new family member takes time.

Once you fall in love with their picture, the next steps are to fill out the following questionnaire and to schedule a Meet and Greet. This gives you and your family an opportunity to meet the furry friend you are interested in and to begin creating a special bond. Please send the completed questionnaire to tysonschance@gmail.com and we will contact you within 72 hours to schedule a meet and greet.

Meet & Greet Questionnaire

Your Name:
Phone Number:
Adoptable Pet You Want to Meet:
Do you have any children?
If so, what ages?
Do you have other animals in the home? Please list them.
Are all animals spayed or neutered?
If you have other animals in the home, do they regularly see a vet?
Are all animals currently up to date on vaccines?
Do you have a fenced-in yard?
Do you have “outdoor” animals?
Do you agree to a home visit?

After the meet and greet, we require an adoption application to be filled out. Our adoption application can be found at www.tysonschance.com under the tab labeled "Adoptions & Fostering." The process for reviewing an application takes about one week. Our adoption process requires a current vet reference, a home check, a personal reference, renter/home information, and current and previous pet history. Once the application is approved, we will contact you with more information on when you can pick up your new fur baby.

Adoption fee for dogs: $200
Adoption fee for cats: $75
