Through public donations, South of the Bully Rescue will provide all necessary veterinary care, including spay or neuter and any basic needs. Our mission is to promote ethical rescue practices, responsible ownership, financial transparency and to act as an intermediary to individuals or groups looking for support for pit bulls. Adoption Approval Process for South of the Bully
• An Adoption Application must be completed and approved. We call and check vet references to make sure any current pets are up to date with vaccinations and check length of time under vet care. We review all their current pets and ask questions about their temperament to make sure the dog they want to adopt would be a good fit. Once the interview process is complete, the final step is a home visit. Home visits are currently done virtually due to the pandemic.
• If a dog has been chosen, a meet and greet is arranged AFTER the application is approved. If they have other pets, we also like them to meet at this time, if possible.
• Our adoption fee is $300 which includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations and microchip.
• We offer training support and resources for the lifetime of the dog once adopted. Our contract states that if for any reason they cannot continue to provide care for one of our dogs that it be returned to our rescue.
