Saving Carolina Dogs is a volunteer based 501(c)3 non profit dedicated to rescuing the Carolina Dogs and mixes we find in shelters across the country. With the help of fosters and volunteers, we've succeeded in helping so many pups find their forever homes! All of the admins in the group have their own Carolina Dogs and love the breed so much that they began rescuing them 4 years ago. Our passion and mission: save as many Carolina Dogs as we can!

Rescue FAQs

Saving Carolina Dogs is a 501(c)3, non-profit, volunteer based organization that saves Carolina Dogs that we locate in various shelters all around the country (transport is available in most cases so don't let that stop you from applying). All of our dogs are placed in loving foster homes where they can begin to acclimate to life outside of the shelter. Many of our foster homes have more than one dog (some have cats) so the dogs are well socialized when they are ready for adoption.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process begins with an adoption application which requires a vet reference and home check. An adoption contract is required ensuring that the dog be returned to us at any time during its life should a problem arise. For us, the well being of the dog AFTER adoption, is just as important as the actual adoption. Our fees vary depending on the amount of vetting, age, etc. Transport is extra and we can arrange for our dogs to go anywhere in the country.
