The Saline Animal League is a group of caring persons who do all in their power to see that no healthy, adoptable animal that comes into the Marshall Animal Shelter is euthanized. Our members volunteer at the shelter cleaning, taking animals to the veterinarian, feeding, watering, grooming, and socializing the animals.
We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at the Marshall Public Library at 7 p.m. Anyone that is interested is welcome to attend.
We were founded on June 5, 1997 by Myra Copeland in memory of her sister Mahala Copeland Cox, a local artist and animal lover. Who, after a visit to the local animal shelter, Myra realized the overwhelming need for a concerned group of citizens to combat the number of neglected and homeless animals in Marshall. SAL is completely funded by donations and money raising functions. All work is accomplished by volunteers. We do not have any paid staff members.
We do need your help though. Please spay/neuter your pet! This is the only way the population of pets will become manageable and every pet will get the loving home it deserves.

We are located in Marshall, Missouri. We are willing to work with adopters anywhere in the country, and have adopted pets to loving homes from coast to coast.
Additional adoption info
We have an adoption agreement that must be signed, stating that you will care for the animal for life, or return it to us if you cannot find a suitable home in the event you are not able to keep them.
If the animal has been fully vetted our adoption fee at the shelter is $80 for dogs and $70 for cats. If the spay/neuter has not been performed before adoption, there is no adoption fee, but a spay/neuter deposit of $50 is required at the vet of your choice, or can be paid to Saline Animal League in which case it is refunded to you upon proof of the procedure performed.
