Second Chance 4 Pets Network

Animal rescue in Whiting, IN

Second Chance 4 Pets Network is an all-volunteer organization started in March 2012 and dedicated to helping people help animals.

Our focuses will be spaying/neutering the free-roaming strays in our community, rescuing and adopting out homeless pets, a rehoming assistance program, providing low-cost vaccinations and pet food to those owners in need, microchipping and community education.

Second Chance 4 Pets Network is looking for volunteers to help with fostering pets, fundraising, publicity and transporting animals.

Rescue FAQs

Second Chance 4 Pets Network is based in the Robertsdale section of Hammond, Indiana. Although we primarily serve the Whiting/Robertsdale area, we are not limited to those communities. We will help any homeless animals in Northwest Indiana provided we have available foster homes.

Additional adoption info

Second Chance 4 Pets Network does not do same day adoptions. All potential adopters are required to fill out an adoption application that includes the name of the adopter's veterinarian and 3 references. Once references have been checked and the application approved, the potential adopter will be notified. To finalize the adoption, the adopter will also be required to sign an adoption contract. If for some reason, the adoption does not work out, the adopter is required to return the pet to Second Chance 4 Pets Network.

Our fees for adoption are $75.00 for cats and $150 for dogs. All our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, wormed, tested for heartworm or feline aids/leukemia. Dogs are also microchipped.
