Rescue FAQs

NAfA operates several spay/neuter programs and a limited adoption program for companion animals throughout the Niagara region. Many of the kittens in our adoption program are the offspring of feral cats/barn cats living in monitored colonies who have since been spayed/neutered. We also re-home kittens from low-income homes where the adult cats have been spayed/neutered through our SNIP program. Adult cats in the program are homeless cats that NAfA has been able to assist or cats adopted through our Adoption Program and for reasons beyond their family's control have been brought back to the program. All of our cats/kittens are fostered in homes and are very well socialized before being placed.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is $150 for adult cats & kittens and includes vet check, spay/neuter, microchip and first vaccine (or more, depending on age). Adoption fees for dogs and small animals vary.

We require all applicants to fill out an adoption screening questionnaire and to provide us with authorization to conduct a veterinarian reference. Upon board approval, a final adoption contract is then signed.
