Mission
To cultivate an understanding of the American Pit Bull Terrier through positive education and example and change the misinformed minds of society one dog at a time!
Nonprofit Overview
The Miami Valley Pit Crew (MVPC) rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with a network of volunteer foster homes dedicated to rescue and rehabilitation of abused, neglected, and misunderstood dogs and puppies. While we are an all breed rescue, we specialize in "bully breeds" and other strong working breeds: Bulldogs, Pit Bulls, Mastiffs, German Shepherds and any mixes of the aforementioned. We pull dogs from the country's overcrowded shelters. We also educate owners and the public on bully breeds and Breed Specific Legislation (BSL). We specialize in dogs, but respect all living creatures and encourage others to do the same by education.
The MVPC evaluates each potential rescue request to determine the dogs re-homing probability. Our goal is to adopt out family dogs and ambassadors of their breed.

Because we are volunteer based and a home visit is required, we have a two hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Exceptions, though rare, may be made on a case by case basis for our ADULT dogs only, but we must be able to do a home visit. Thank you for your understanding! All of our dogs live in private foster homes as members of the family until they are adopted.

Additional adoption info
Our adoption fees are $250 for adult dogs, and $350 for puppies 5mo and under. Adoption fees may be more or less depending on breed, special needs, etc. This covers all vetting and allows us to take on hard cases.
It all starts with an application.

Our dogs are listed until an adopter is approved and a hold fee is received. Please submit an application for approval FIRST. You will receive a "received" auto response with further information. We do not adopt out littermates together. We are a 100% foster-based, volunteer rescue so we are not able to respond to every inquiry about a dog (though we try) and we will respond to a request for an application or if one is submitted through our website. Please allow 72 hours for us to respond, and please check your spam/junk mail folder first, then send us an email if you believe we have not responded! Since we are foster-based, we have no centralized facility to visit. All of our dogs live in private homes as members of their respective foster families.
We require a physical fence for most dogs.
Once approved, we bring the dog to your home for a home visit. If all goes well at the home visit, the adoption is completed at that time.
