H.E.A.R.T. is a local volunteer based group devoted to the safe placement of animals currently housed in shelters. We strive to seek out loving homes that can provide for these rescues the kindness and compassion they have been deprived of.
We are dedicated to ensuring that the adoption and homing process goes as smooth and safe as possible for both the animal and the adopter. A majority of our animals are fostered by our volunteers and have the opportunity to properly socialize with people and other domesticated animals, and become acclimated to a home environment. This action positively facilitates the homing process for both the animal and the adopter.

Dutchess County and other neighboring cities in New York. We also have adopted out to families in Connecticut as well.
We have local dogs as well as Sato's from Puerto Rico and some other states on occasion.
Additional adoption info
We have a homing fee specified by the shelter they are housed in. Each animal has a differently fee. H.E.A.R.T. does not charge any additional fees other than the homing fee specified by the shelter. An adoption application must be filled with adequate references. We require all of our animals to be spayed/neutered within one years time of adoption if they are not spayed/neutered already. We also require an at home visit prior to adoption and some after adoption to ensure everything is going smoothly, We also strongly recommend a week trial period to ensure the family and adoptee are a good match.
