Who We Are - We are a County operated shelter serving all of Macon County, North Carolina. We opened in July 2009 and our shelter has a cat room in our lobby as well as a cat room, puppy room, dog kennels, and dog and cat isolation areas.

We are a County operated shelter serving all of Macon County North Carolina. We opened in July 2009, our shelter has a cat room that can house up to 21 adult cats, 30 large dog kennels, a puppy room and both cat and dog isolation rooms and our newly added lobby cat room where you can go in and visit with adoptable cats and kittens.

Additional adoption info
Adoption fees are $65 for both dogs and cats. All adoptions include age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, and spay/neuter. We ask that if you plan to adopt a dog, you bring a leash and collar. If you plan to adopt a cat, please bring a carrier. If you do not have a carrier, they are available to purchase for $5.
