Friends of Austin Animal Center was formed in 2006 to support Austin Animal Center — the open intake shelter in the nation’s largest no-kill city. Our programs improve quality of life for shelter animals, help responsible owners keep their pets, and support the community’s committed foster and volunteer network. We address animal medical issues, behavioral challenges, shelter stresses, facility needs, and costs of ownership — helping the most at-risk animals find and stay in their forever homes.

Additional adoption info
Currently, most of our adoptions will take place thru Austin Animal Center but we are here to assist you with any dog or cat you see in one of our programs. As a non profit sector of AAC, we have worked with most of these animals on a one on one basis and will do our best to match you with the right pet.
