The Fort Irwin Stray Facility is located inside the Fort Irwin Veterinary Treatment Facility. Fort Irwin is located about 30 miles from Barstow, CA.
We welcome people who live off-post to come and adopt an animal off post, you just need to call first to get a pass since Fort Irwin is a military installation. Certain breeds are not allowed on post (i.e. pit bulls, chow chows, doberman pinchers, etc.) and *must* be adopted off post. Please consider helping these animals! Thank you so much!
