Rescue-Me

Cat rescue in Granville, OH

RESCUE-ME is a group of people who voluntarily care for feral cat colonies and homeless cats in the Licking County area of Central Ohio. We try to maintain the feral populations by Trapping, Neutering, and Returning (TNR) the ferals to their colonies. When possible, we try to place feral kittens in good homes. We do not operate a shelter, and all our cats and kittens are housed with foster parents until they are old enough to be neutered and adopted. Not all of our adoptable pets are feral. Many are "drop-offs" or otherwise abandoned. Our organization realizes the trauma caused to a kitty by being declawed. We will not adopt an animal to someone who plans to have the animal declawed. If you must have a declawed cat, we suggest looking for one that is already declawed and in need of a home!

RESCUE-ME also tries to assist senior citizens finance a kitty adoption, spay/neuter, or veterinary services.

RESCUE-ME provides monthly low-cost CAT spay/neuter clinics in the Newark, Ohio area. Dr. Laura Miller brings her state of the art NOMAD mobile surgery unit here for the "paloozas." She will park her surgery unit behind the Complete Petmart store in Heath, Ohio. The cost is $30 for a male cat neuter and $45 for a female cat spay. For registration information call: (740) 323-0963 . PLEASE DO NOT CALL COMPLETE PETMART, AS THEY ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE CLINIC INFORMATION!

Rescue FAQs

RESCUE-ME provides a means for placing cats and kittens in "furr-ever" adoptive homes. We serve the Granville/Newark/Heath, Ohio and the surrounding area of Licking County.
We provide homes for abandoned, stray, or otherwise homeless cats and kittens as well as feral kittens if they have been socialized.
RESCUE-ME operates entirely with volunteers and donations. We are always in need of cat food, cat carriers, old towels, or cash donations. If you live in the Granville/Newark/Heath area and can help by serving as a RESCUE-ME foster parent, or if you would like to be involved in TNR of feral cats please contact us!

Additional adoption info

To adopt a RESCUE-ME "furry," contact us by e-mail. We will put you in contact with the foster parents of the kitty you are interested in. You can arrange a visit !
Our adoption process is simple and friendly. We have a one page application form which will be the basis for an adoption contract when signed. We will hold a friendly interview with you either in person or by telephone. If you are now or have been a pet owner, we request a veterinarian reference.

ALL OUR CATS AND KITTENS WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED BEFORE GOING TO THEIR NEW HOMES, OR IF TOO YOUNG, A DATE WILL BE SCHEDULED.
