We are a 501C3 and our goals include: 1) rescue and find forever families for animals in need and 2) educating the public on spay or neutering their pets, feral cat trap/neuter/release programs available in our area and, finally, proper care for their pets to include the importance of heartworm preventative.
All of our pets live in foster homes while waiting for their forever families; therefore, we know their personalities, their likes/dislikes and help with their emotional rehab. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please email us at koolkatskanines@yahoo.com
Kool Kats & Kanines is very much in need of food donations. If you wish to make Kool Kats & Kanines a recipient of your generous giving, any amount is greatly appreciated.
You can purchase a gift card on-line from PetSmart by clicking on this link: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=10766925. Please make the gift card a store card and not an on-line card. We can not use our tax exempt status with on-line purchases.
Thank you for remembering all of our needy animals this day and every day

Additional adoption info
Our process starts with an application. We want to make sure the pet you are interested in is a good match for you so that you won't get home and go through the trauma of finding out the pet is not what you wanted. The Board reviews the application with the foster parent and, when they determine it is a good match, they let a volunteer know. That volunteer schedules an appointment to bring the pet to the applicant’s home. If at that point, the applicant is ready to do the adoption the fee $200 for mixed breed dogs, $125 for cats and the purebred dogs are set by the Board. However, the pets are fully vet'ed so, at a minimum, they are heartworm negative, intestinal parasite free, age appropriate shots, spayed/neutered and any special needs have been taken care of to include surgeries, treatment for parvo, etc. Finally, a standard form 2 page contract is completed stating you will be a good pet parent.
