Little Big Paws Rescue

Dog rescue in Madison, AL

We are a young rescue (born in March 2011) and we are foster based. We can only house as many dogs as we have room in foster homes for. Obviously, we need foster homes as badly as we need forever homes. The application process for our volunteers is the same as for adoption. We have been saving one dog at a time for years. We pull from the local kill shelters, get a dog healthy and happy then work to find it a home, then repeat the process. It has been a labor of love for years (close to 10 yrs). We finally in March gave it a name and made it possible for people to help us save as many as we can.

Rescue FAQs

We are located in Madison, Alabama but serve most of the northern region south to Birmingham. We can help arrange transport but prefer to keep adoptions local.

Additional adoption info

We require an application and complete vet and personal references. We will perform a home visit to make sure our dogs get into the best possible forever home. We prefer a fenced yard but would adopt to the right unfenced home or apt if the match was right and we felt the person understands to never be off leash unless in a secure fenced area. Adoption fees are age dependent... puppies up to 2 yrs old are $250, dogs 2-6 are $200 and seniors (7-over) are $150. The fees cover all vetting (Dogs will be UTD on shots, spayed or neutered, heartworm neg and on preventative and microchipped)
