Plainfield Area Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has been uniting pets and people since 1933. Our mission is to find a loving home for every homeless pet. Our vision is that all pets have a permanent home to live their lives in comfort. Our values are to value the life of every animal entrusted to our care. We value our employees, who give so much in caring for abandoned animals. We value our volunteers and supporters, who generously contribute their time and resources to our mission. We value our role in the community, eliciting change in the way animals are perceived and treated. Our methods are to perform animal control services to keep homeless pets off the streets. We use mandatory spay/neuter to reduce pet overpopulation. We microchip every adoptee so that they may find their way home if lost.We promote responsible pet ownership through community outreach and education.

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters are required to first come in and meet the animal they want to adopt. They are also required to fill out an adoption application and once approved you will have to sign an adoption contract. All animals have age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, blood tests and will be microchipped before they go home. The dog adoption fee is $200 and the cat adoption fee is $150.
