South Florida SPCA

Animal rescue in Miami Lakes, FL

The South Florida SPCA is a 20 year old organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of abused, neglected and abandoned horses and other large animals. We also educate the community about responsible animal care, animal ownership and promote the welfare of animals through local and national advocacy.

The SFSPCA used a cadre of trained volunteers to care for the animals at our rescue ranch, located in Hialeah Gardens. Our Director of Ranch Operations is certified to work with the Agriculture Police to determine if animals are in need of rescue and to take custody of them if they do.

We believe that every animal deserves to be loved and cared for appropriately at all times by responsible caregivers.

Additional adoption info

To adopt a horse you must submit an application. Print and complete our ADOPTION APPLICATION that can be found at our website at www.helpthehorses.org and return by fax to 786.999.0709. Your application will be reviewed and we will call you if we have a horse that will be a suitable match. We only adopt our horses to homes within the State of Florida. Prospective homes must have turnout with grass.

A tax-deductible donation will be requested for each permanent foster animal based on several factors including type of animal, condition, age, care requirements, is it rideable, trained, etc. The donation range for most animals is $500 to $700, but it could be lower or higher based upon specific exceptions.

A signed contact and donation must be received for the foster agreement to be finalized and the animal transferred to the foster home.
