We do this for our love of the breed, Karen got her first dachshund in 1967. She showed dachshunds for over a decade, with some champions achieved.
This rescue has been going strong since 2003, and placed over 100 dachshunds and doxie mixes.
On June 9, 2012 this rescue lost our home to a devastating fire. We also lost 14 rescue dogs. Four dogs survived including two rescues, Jasmine and Herc. We are currently trying to get into a new home, and rebuild our lives. As for the future of the rescue, we are unsure right now. For anyone wanting to donate we have a Chip-In set up. Any help is appreciated.

We saved 4 dogs but lost 12 dogs & house was a total lost.
We respond immediately to Vet Clinics, shelters, rescue and any other animal professionals.

Additional adoption info
We have families come to our home and meet our dogs, if there is a dog they want to adopt, then the paperwork needs to be filled out, references are checked, pre and post placement home visits are preformed.
There is a signed contract required. The contract states if the dachshund cannot be kept by the adopter, then the dog will be brought back to us. Also, we reserve the right to remove the dachshund if abuse or neglect is suspected.
