1-Up Rescue

Animal rescue in Mattydale, NY

1-Up Rescue officially in April of 2010 when the founder's black lab / pitbull mix found a litter of kittens and alerted his owner. What started with 5 kittens has now grown into a rescue that has saved over 40 lives in less than 2 years. 1-Up is a rescue that considers itself a 'universal fluffbutt / scalebutt' rescue, of all shapes / sizes, dealing with
everything from exotic animals (Chinchillas, ferrets, etc) to your average cats and dogs. We do mostly handle cats because of the overload of feral / abused animals in the area wandering lose, but we also save dogs, rats, mice, or anything else. We fill up quickly- if interested in surrendering an animal, we ask you foster your pet for us while we find it a home.

We serve all of upstate New York and animals are able to be adopted out as far as 200+ miles away, so long as they get a good home. If interested, please let us know!!

Additional adoption info

All adopters are required to fill out an adoption application, After being approved for adoption (don't worry, there's very little we would decline over), you are set up with an appointment to meet the pet (or pets) you are interested in. Should everything go well, a future pick-up date is set, you would show up to pick up your animal (or in cases of being farther away, your pet is transported to you). You sign your adoption contract and pay any adoption fees applicable, and the pet is now yours.

During this time shortly following adoption, the rescue will register your pet's microchip with the database. You receive copies of all of your new pet's papers and such, and viola, you're done.
