Abandoned Terrier Rescue (ATRA):
We are a Southern California non-profit rescue group. We are looking for experienced terrier owners who are interested in adopting abandoned & homeless purebred Wire Fox Terriers, Welsh Terriers, Lakeland Terriers, and Airedale Terriers. If you're looking for a devoted companion who's not afraid of commitment and can offer a lifetime of love and caring, you've come to the right place.
Wire Fox Terriers are very active and very demanding of attention. Their curious nature can get them into things. They are very smart, but will only learn what they are motivated to learn. If you are looking for a mellow, "eager to please dog," the terrier breeds may not be for you! They are active and independent and not known for winning obedience championships! A high percentage of dogs of all breeds that are turned into animal shelters are there not because of what they did, but because their owners had unreasonable expectations of them. Be sure that the Wire Fox Terrier or the Airedale is going to fit into your lifestyle before adopting one.
