Our mission is to provide a safe and loving temporary home for abandoned and unwanted dogs and horses that are found within Payette county. We also assist established dog and horse rescue organizations, law enforcement and all other animal welfare agencies in caring for, housing and re-homing dogs and horses.
We do not foster out any animals; we keep all animals until a new home is found, no matter how long it takes. All animals that are brought in as strays are kept a minimum of 30 days before we adopt them out. During that 30 day period, we post the dog on our website and our Facebook page, and when appropriate, we post on CraigsList, FidoFinders, Missing Pet Network, and also create flyers posted locally to notify the owner(s).
We maintain a Pet Food Bank and accept dog & cat food donations all year long for Payette County residents so that no dog (or cat) goes hungry!
We maintain a free LOST/FOUND service for Payette County residents using our FACEBOOK rescue page. We have a huge network of like minded folks and we have been able to reunite dogs & owners within 30 minutes of posting information.
We also help to educate kids about how to care for their pets and explain why there is a need for animal rescues by hosting them for school projects and for Boy & Girl Scout meetings.

Additional adoption info
We require that you and your family make an appointment to come out to the ranch to meet your selected rescue dog. You will be asked to fill out an application and once your application has been approved (generally a few days) you can then complete our Adoption Contract when you come back to pick up your dog. We ask that you do NOT bring your dog with you for your initial meeting as they tend to be nervous & intimidated by all of the other barking dogs. This has proven NOT to be a beneficial first introduction for the dogs involved.
Basic adoption fees start at $75.00 if the dog has already been spayed/neutered. Otherwise, the adoption fee would be based on actual veterinarian costs for that animal. All dogs will be spayed/neutered and brought up to date on all vaccinations prior to adoption.
We do require that all dogs adopted have an adequately fenced yard or secured area, at least initially during their first several months with you while they bond with you, your family and their new surroundings.
