Southern Animal Rescue was founded in November 2008. Our mission is to rescue and re-home abused,
neglected and homeless dogs and cats in metro-Atlanta, to educate pet owners to properly care for
their animals and to reduce the number of feral cats and kittens through the humane practice of TNR
(trap-neuter-return).
We are active and vocal advocates for abused and abandoned pets in our local communities and
with our State law makers. We believe that rescue alone will never save enough lives nor bring
about a long-term solution to Georgia's pet overpopulaton crisis. In all that we do, we strive to create communities where, one day in the not-so-distant future, our rescue work is no longer required.
S.A.R. is 501(c)(3) non profit. We are run by all non-paid
volunteers. Your donations go directly toward veterinary care for the animals we rescue.

Additional adoption info
We ask that all adopters fill out an application and complete an interview and home check. If approved, we have an adoption contract that the adopters must agree to and sign.
We ask that all cats be kept indoors and that all dogs be kept indoors primarily and only allowed outdoors with proper supervision. All adopters must agree to give Heartworm prevention to the pets for the pets's lifetimes.
Our adoption fees are $125 for cats/kittens and $195 for dogs/puppies. The adoption fee covers all of the pet's vetting including all necessary tests, vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchip.
