Dog rescue in cedar grove, IN

VFAW is a small rescue organization that helps homeless dogs who are in kill shelters and strays. We do not have an actual shelter. We have individual foster homes that we keep our rescued dogs in until they find their forever homes. Once a dog in foster care gets adopted, it makes room for another dog to be rescued. We do everything medically needed done for each dog. We have taken in dogs with heartworm (and had them treated by vet), blind dogs, 3 legged dogs, special needs dogs, and very adoptable dogs. We do not euthanize.
We have been rescuing for over 18 years and have successfully found wonderful loving homes for hundreds of dogs. We keep in contact with the new adopters to make sure things are going well. If there are any issues we work with them to try to make it better. We do ask that if for some reason an adopter cannot keep the dog that it is returned to VFAW.
We started this rescue because we are in a very rural area where people need to be educated on over population. There are too many stray dogs running around and we decided something had to be done to help them. We spay or neuter all dogs before adopting. We encourage our adopters to give us updates and also let us know if they are having any issues. We want the adoption to be a success. We take in any breed, mix, size etc. All dogs in need are all important to us.
