Rescue FAQs

We serve all of Orange County & surrounding areas. We do not allow out of state adoptions - except under special circumstances. This would involve you coming to Orange County to meet us, and the dog. We do not ship animals.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is designed to make everybody happy. We want to find our dogs the best homes, and you want to find the best lifetime buddy. So here’s what’s involved…

1. Complete and return our adoption application. This can be done online or printed and faxed. We encourage you to take the time to fill it out properly so that it can be reviewed as quickly as possible. Once this is done, we will contact you.

2. If you haven’t already met the dog, we will arrange a meet ‘n’ greet if we believe it’s a good match.

3. Home check. No, we’re not just being nosey! We ask to see your home simply so that we can check fences, gates, balconies etc, and warn you of any possible hazards. If you have already have a dog, it may also be best to introduce them in advance, to ensure they’ll get along.

4. If all parties agree to proceed with the adoption, you can pick up the dog from our hospital.

5. Contract. The final step consists of a signed agreement between Lido Animal Hospital and the dog's new family. We offer a seven-day trial period just to make sure this truly is match made in heaven!
