We are a county operated shelter providing animal control to 44 communities in Bergen County. We accept owned animals for a fee from our contracted communities. If space permits, we will accept owned animals from other Bergen County towns. Before bringing in a stray, call the police department of the town in which the animal is found to determine the appropriate agency that provides animal control for that community. The Shelter is a Division of Department of Health Services.
