Founded by Atwater resident Renate Schmitz and her late daughter, Mona, the Last Hope Cat Kingdom is the very definition of a grassroots organization. It is a non profit, no-kill rescue. It has operated through the tireless efforts of a core group of volunteers and a number of bighearted local “foster” homes. Thanks to these dedicated few, countless animals have been rescued and re-homed.
