Additional adoption info
The process starts with either an email or phone call. Then an application is filled out online. If the application is approved, there is a meeting between adopter and adoptee. If that works out, then there is a two week foster period and an adoption contract is signed at the end of the two weeks.
Main requirements to adopt a kitty:
Cat must be kept indoors (unless he/she was already an indoor out door cat when turned into the shelter)
Must be fed good quality food (Iams, Science Diet or better)
Must see a vet on a regular basis (yearly usually)
Must be able to afford a new pet.
A home visit may be required.
An adoption fee of $65 is charged at the time of adoption.
Kitties are vaccinated, tested for leukemia, microchipped and spayed or neutered. Younger cats may be fostered out before being spayed/neutered but will not be officially adopted out until the surgery is done.
The main contact for Beeb Rescue is a full time student, employed full time and is responsible for taking care of all the animals of the rescue, so it may take a day or two for him to respond to any inquiries about kitties.
