North Texas Canine & Feline Rescue

Animal rescue in Hurst, TX

North Texas Canine & Feline Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit, no-kill canine and feline rescue and advocacy organization composed of people whose passion is to help those animals who cannot help themselves.

Our mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary, and ultimately find abandoned, abused, neglected, and lost dogs and cats the perfect "forever home" that meets their exact needs. Whenever possible, we also assist animals who, because of no fault of their own, are unable to remain in their homes with their owners.

All NTCFR animals are housed in foster homes where they are provided with a family that gives them all the love they could ever want and medical attention that may be required to ensure they are in the best possibly health they can attain before they are adopted.

We want to bring an end to the homeless animal tragedy and believe the euthanasia of millions of animals each year is an unacceptable solution. All our animals are spayed or neutered to help reduce the number of animals that enter the shelters and wind up on the street. In addition, we believe that our actions within the rescue have a direct effect on this, and we can create change.

Additional adoption info

Adult dog - $200
Puppy - $225
Adult Cat - $100
Kitten - $125

We do have a Seniors for Seniors rate. If an animal is considered a senior, we will adopt them out a discounted rate for those who are over 70 years old.

We do require fully refundable deposits in two situations:
1. The animal is too young to be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. The deposit varies based on species and weight at the time of surgery. The actual cost of the spay/neuter will be covered up to the cost we are charged by our vet.
2. Certain dogs (based on breed and personality) are required to go through a formal obedience class. This deposit is $50.

Our adoption is process is as follows:
1. Pre-Adoption Application
2. Face-to-Face meeting
3. Home Visit
4. Adoption - Filling out our contract

If you live in a rented residence, we must have proof that you are allowed to have a pet and have paid any and all deposits. Different complexes have breed restrictions so that will also be checked out.

You must be 21 years of age to adopt from us. If you are over the age of 70, we would like to have a friend or family member agree to either take the animal or ensure its return to us if anything should happen to the adopter.

We rarely adopt out animals to those who live too far away for us to do a home visit and we never ship an animal.

It may take up to 24 hours for us to return your email.
