The Downtown Dogs Group

Animal rescue in Jackson, TN

We are four women who live or work in the downtown area of Jackson, TN. After witnessing the stray dogs roaming the streets, we pooled our resources and energy and began to get the dogs off the streets and into homes. We had to use live humane traps to capture some, as they were not socialized to the human touch. We have vaccinated, altered and heartworm treated and adopted several of the adult dogs and prevented their babies and future babies from growing up on the streets. Whenever possible, we reach out to all pets in need. We believe any dog is worth saving, and we do not euthanise except in situations of severe and non-reversable medical conditions, and only when it is the humane thing to do.
