The Tennessee Doberman Rescue is proud to rescue, protect, and guard the Doberman Pinscher breed. All of our dogs are registered with either the American Kennel Club or United Kennel Club prior to being adopted. We believe that Dobermans should have activities to do in order to maintain their health, mental attitude, and physical condition. By offering registered dogs, the new families of our Dobermans are able to participate in a variety of activities and competitions through these registries.
We offer training throughout the lifetime of dogs adopted from us in order to help adopters deal with anything that might come up in the future.

Additional adoption info
Our adoption process is outlined at http://www.dobierescue.info/adoptioninfo.html.
The adoption process is thorough as we want to make sure that we are placing TDR dogs into the correct environment.
All potential adopters will need to fill out the correct adoption application for the animal which they desire to adopt. We occasionally have different breeds of dogs and types of animals available.
Once the application is completed, it is returned to TDR for review. All references are checked during the review process. During the period of review, potential adopters may call to inquire on any animal in our program.
If the application has been reviewed successfully, a home inspection will follow. If special permission has been granted to adopt outside of the state of TN, then the potential adopter is responsible for the travel expenses for the home visit. If the home visit is not satisfactory, suggestions will be given with a second opportunity for a home inspection given.
If the home inspection is passed, then potential adopters can visit our available animals. Finally, to complete a valid adoption, an adoption contract must be signed and a MINIMUM adoption fee of:
* $225.00 for adult Dobermans (1 year-8 years)
* $300 for Doberman puppies (under 12 months)
* $100 for older Dobermans (8 and up)
* Adoption fees for the other breeds of dogs, cats, horses, and any other animals in our care varies.
Our contract requires that you complete a minimum of one FREE training class with us prior to taking your new dog home and additional obedience classes within 6 months of your adoption. We do offer FREE training classes which may count as these obedience classes. There are obvious exceptions to this requirement. The Doberman is a working breed that needs mental and physical stimulation. They need a strong owner that sets limitations and creates a respectful relationship with their dog. To insure that obedience classes are completed on some of our more challenging dogs, an obedience deposit of $150 will be collected at the time of adoption and returned upon completion of the class of your choice.
