We are first and foremost an avian adoption service. We exist solely to help unwanted or found parrots to find homes. We are also a bird “rescue” in that we will do everything possible to remove a parrot from a harmful situation, but this is something that only happens very occasionally. Mostly, we are here to help people who can no longer care for their birds.
If you are looking for that right bird please email or call us to see if we have one for you. If you are looking to place one with us, please contact us about your sweet bird.
What a job! Yes, this is my job -- taking care of all of the birds that come my way. I love finding that right home for them. I'm learning so much with them too. Every one of them is loved and cared for by many people (all trained volunteers) before they go on to that right home.

We are a 501(c)(3), non-profit, charitable, all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving birds that are in need of a new home. We do not just take in African Greys -- we take in all birds -- and work to permanently place these birds with the right people.
Some people experience changes in their lives that prohibit them from caring for their beloved birds. This is why we're here -- to look for a place where these birds can happily live out their lives.
Can you open your door and your heart to a bird who needs a second chance? Ask yourself that. All bird lovers know how rewarding it can be to care for one or more of them. And sometimes rescued and readopted birds make the best pets.
We are a small non-profit organization that does not take in more than five birds at any one time. Space is limited, but we love spending as much time with them as possible. We do all our Adoptions and Rescues in PA, NJ, and DE only. We do not ship birds.
Starting in 2002 with the adoption and rescue of birds, we have grown and need your help in caring for the birds. If you can help, please send an email to us and see how you can help or make a donation.
If you are looking for the right bird or need additional information, please send an email to Margaret at Margaret@JojoTheGrey.org or to Keith at Keith@JojoTheGrey.org.
People who are giving up a bird must sign the bird over to us. The bird is tested before an adoption is to take place. The bird must be in good health before leaving my home.

Additional adoption info
We require an application to be completed and forwarded to us to be reviewed before we begin any visitations with the birds. We do charge adoption fees to allow us to pay operation, medical and food costs. This fee is based on the type of bird and medical bills we incur. Once reviewed we make every effort to put the right combination together. If we have a bird that we feel will be a match we invite the applicant to come and visit with the bird. If there is a connection between the bird and the applicant they are required to come back and visit two more times. Then we do a home visit to be sure the conditions are safe where the bird is going and that a cage of appropriate size is ready . We would then complete the adoption. We will not adopt a bird unless it likes the new person it is to live with.
