Rescue FAQs

k9 connection, a 501(c)(3) project of OPCC, is an experiential program which educates and inspires high risk youth through bonding with and training homeless shelter dogs Each individual program serves counselor referred teens at participating schools, and concludes with a graduation ceremony and the placement of each dog in a permanent home. Our work then continues with monthly follow-up “check-ins” and student mentoring for all k9 connection graduates.
We partner with the West Los Angeles City Care Center in Los Angeles. We are convenient to Los Angeles county, Santa Monica, Venice, San Fernando Valley. All of our animals are temp tested, given shots, spayed/neutered, microchipped and have participated in our school program.
