Adopt A Pet

Dog rescue in Freehold, NJ

Adopt-A-Pet was founded in 1984 and is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to finding homes for animals who need them. Adopt-A-Pet is different from most shelters and rescue organizations in that any animal who comes through our doors will not be in danger of being euthanized. Many animals have problems that are solved if given the right treatment and training, these dogs are kept in foster homes until adopted. Adopt A Pet is the proud sponsor of Puppy Mill Awareness Day, for more info go to WWW.puppymillawarenessaap.org

Additional adoption info

No pets will be adopted into homes or families where there are animals who are unspayed or neutered (intact). We specialize in handicapped dogs and puppy mill survivors. Our adoption fee is used to cover the cost of all medicals on the pets, Usually around $600. We take our pets back for the rest of their lives if the owners circumstances should ever changed.
