Shelter FAQs

Cherokee Humane Society, Inc. is a no kill limited admision adoption center. We house 25 animals on site and use a network of Foster Homes for both cats and dogs. We are a non profit and rely on donations and grants to cover expenses. . See our web site for application.
We are located in Northeastern Alabama on the Georgia line. We serve Northeast Alabama, Southern Tenn, and northwestern Georgia. Our goal is to find adoptive homes for all our animals. We will transport to further locations if necessary.

Additional adoption info

Application can be found on our web site www.cherokeehumane.org or at petango.com We require two non relative references and a vet reference if possible. If you find a pet you would like to adopt an adoption contract is required.
