Hi! I'm Lacey Sculls. Many people know me as a character on the reality TV shows "Rock of Love" and "Charm School". My true "reality" though is my passion for rescuing animals.

I've been rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abused and abandoned animals for 15+ years. My rescue group "Heroes K9 Rescue" (previously called "New Dawn Pet Rescue") was launched in 2007 in California.

Now located in Nevada, my husband Jonny Sculls and I rescue dogs and occasionally, other species (including but not limited to cats and birds) that are abused, injured, abandoned, or at risk of being euthanized at the animal shelter. Once the animal has been rescued and is safe, we rehabilitated that animal, then work to find an amazing, loving forever home for that animal.

To date, I have rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed over 100 animals from "kill shelter" or the streets.

Additional adoption info

If someone is interested in adopting one of our rescued dogs, first we will send the potential adopter a brief adoption application via e-mail. Once we receive the completed adoption application back from that person, and if it looks like a good match, then we may ask to speak with the potential adopter over the phone for a few minutes.

Next, we will then invite the potential adopter to meet the dog in person.

If all goes well, then we will then bring the dog to the potential adopter's house. That way, we can simultaneously do a home and yard check, and have the person and the dog meet again.

When both the adopter and us, the rescue group, agree that this is a good match, then we will ask the adopter to sign our adoption agreement, and with that, the adoption will be complete. (The adoption agreement is the legal transfer of ownership from us to the adopter. It also states that the adopter agrees to properly care for the dog in a way described within the agreement, and it also states that the adopter will return the animal back to us if at any time the adopter can no longer keep the animal.)

Our low-cost adoption fees range from $125 to $200.
