Our goal is two fold. We provide loving care for the 50+ animals living at the sanctuary and we also do community outreach to try to educate people aboput responsible pet guardianship. We are a 501 c 3 federal non-profit and althoughw e are small, we do everything we can to help animals.
We have an assortment of animals - 28 cats, 5 dogs, 6 goats, 1 sheep, 4 rabbits, 5 pigs, 1 chinchilla, 1 guinea pig and 1 gecko. The rabbits, goats, sheep and pigs live outside and have a nice, warm barn to sleep in. The dogs, cats, guinea pig, chinchilla and gecko live in the house with access to outside as is appropriate for their species. We provide a home environment and live at the sanctuary with the animals. Each animal is provided with the best food available. We feed organic, natural foods when available for the species. Each animal gets medical attention as needed and lots and lots of love.
We serve Grant County, New Mexico and the southwestern United States. We are more than willing to help arrange for transportation of adopted animals outside the Grant County area. Our goal is to help people place and adopt unwanted pets.
Additional adoption info
Because our local shelter has only a 7-11% adoption rate, we always refer people who want dogs or cats to them. We are a no-kill animal sanctuary. As such, we are prepared to keep all the rescued animals we bring in for their entire lives. Presently, we can't take any more animals but we do help people place pets they can no longer keep.
