We evaluate Australian Shepherds and Australian Shepherd mixes from selected shelters and private owners no longer able to keep their Aussies. If we judge a dog suitable for placement with an average adopter, we foster it in private homes and get to know the dog. We then post the dog to our website and place it in an adoptive home where the energy levels, expectations and personalities are a good fit.
Aussie Rescue Midwest is a Not-For-Profit breed rescue. We save Australian Shepherds, Mini's and special need Aussies, as well as Aussie mixes. We rescue and adopt Aussies in Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesotta and Missouri.

We are a dedicated group of Australian Shepherd owners and lovers. We feel the Aussie is a one of a kind breed that is often misunderstood, and many times made a pet for all the wrong reasons. We want to rescue them, retrain them, find families that will understand and work with them as well as help the public understand better the breed that we love.
