The BuckHawk Center is a small animal rescue center organized in 2002 for the sole purpose of helping animals in need. We want every animal to end up in a good home, but clearly not all are adoptable. We do care for any animal that is not, or cannot be adopted out as though they were our own special pets. Every dog is given some training to assure they have good manners, sit, no jumping, chewing or biting humans, etc. We try to spay or neuter all animals while they are with us. For those animals who cannot be spayed or neutered prior to adoption, we give you a $25 certificate for that procedure.
We are an all-volunteer group dedicated to helping any animal in need. Although dog rescues are the most needed in this area, we do have large pasture land available for grazing animals. We are always in need of donations of money or goods that we can sell to help our fund-raising efforts.
Our volunteers have come together to bring their talents as artisans to help with our fund-raising efforts. They make items that are sold via internet sites. Our hard-working volunteers pay for their own expenses and do this work from the sheer goodness of their hearts.

We rescue from areas around Mountain View, Missouri, but have rescued animals from as far away as Chicago and Pennsylvannia. Adoptions have been made to many areas and our main goal is to place animals in loving homes, without restrictions on where those homes are located.
Additional adoption info
The BuckHawk Center philosophy is simple. Connect loving people with loving animals. To accomplish this, we need to talk to you. There is no application, but we do insist on a phone conversation with you. We want to find out about you and tell you about the animal you are interested in. All of the animals at BuckHawk are treated as pets by us. We know their personality, their temperment, even where they liked to be scratched most. Making sure that you and the animal are a good fit helps assure both of you will be happy. We have a short adoption contract, requiring you to sign that you are a responsible pet owner. (No chaining dogs outside please!) A suggested donation of $100 is asked to help us rescue more animals.
We are an all-volunteer group and do house animals at our facility, which means we are busy taking care of them during various times of the day. We do check email and phone messages regularly and will respond to you as soon as possible.
