The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to the rescue, adoption, and lifelong care of senior dogs abandoned in shelters and pounds. The Sanctuary's mission also includes developing programs that match senior dogs and senior people to their mutual benefit and fostering an awareness of lifelong responsibility to our companion animals.
Our in-home foster care program places senior dogs from area shelters in loving homes until they find appropriate permanent homes. All of our rescued senior dogs have been spayed or neutered, evaluated for temperament, and provided with necessary medical care. Should they not find homes, Sanctuary senior dogs have a place in our organization for life.

We check your references, review your application, and contact you by phone for an interview. We will arrange a meeting at our Adoption & Education Center in Cleveland with the dog of your choice. Once you have decided on the dog, we schedule a home visit. If approved, you can make arrangements to pick up your new best friend as soon as possible.
