It's all about the dogs. For nearly 20 years, our founder and president has been dedicating her time and effort to rescuing these terrific dogs. Her first group, which she started in Sarasota, Florida, is still going strong.
Our group, Gorges Greyhounds,is placing dogs in the Ithaca area, and is in DESPERATE need of funds. We are an all volunteer, state certified, not for profit organization.

Additional adoption info
We are happy to receive inquiries about our dogs. Each dog is fostered in a house before being adopted to an individual or family. That way, we know how each dog deals with other dogs, cats, stairs, children, and so on. All our rescued dogs have been spayed or neutered, received all vaccinations, had blood tests, when necessary, and dental work.
Our adoption application can be found on our web site (www:gorgesgreyhounds.org). Once we receive your application, we'll call to follow up and schedule a home visit. We want to meet you and see where the newest member of the family is going to sleep, eat, etc. We do require a veterinarian's reference (if you don't presently have a vet, just let us know). You will also be asked for two personal references from non-relatives. Our adoption fee is $275.00 and we do require a contract with the new owners. You can find a sample contract on our web site.
