We adopt pets throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region: from New Jersey to Northern Virginia.
Additional adoption info
If you are interested in one of our animals, we ask you to fill out an adoption application. That way all the paperwork is completed ahead of time. Once your application has been reviewed and approved, we will forward your info to the foster parents. They will contact you to arrange a time for you to come meet the pet.
All of our animals are currently living with loving volunteers, we do not have a shelter or office that houses all of them. If you select an animal and you wish to proceed, we require a home visit. A volunteer will visit your home, answer any last minute questions, and provide guidance on bringing your new pet home. Often, the foster parent will simply bring the new animal to your home.
The adoption fee for dogs/puppies is $195 and includes a heartworm test, spay/neuter and vaccinations through the time of adoption. The adoption fee for cats/kittens is $95, which includes FIV/FeLV test, spay/neuter and vaccinations through the time of adoption.
Please note that because we require a home visit to all potential adopters, we generally are only able to adopt to residents in the local DC Metro Area. We do, however, have good relationships with a number of other national rescue groups and can help point you in the right direction if need be. In certain circumstances, we may be able to adopt out-of-state, but only if we can find a way to make a home visit possible.
