The Blount County Humane Society is based in Maryville, Tennessee. If you are from outside the area, it is possible we can contact a Humane Society or another Rescue Group in your area to service your home visit.
Additional adoption info
We require that our adoption contract be filled out and signed, then you will be contacted by the adoption manager or other Humane Society Volunteer. We will check your personal and veterinarian references, and then visit your home to determine if the accommodations are appropriate and in the best interest of the pet you want to adopt. All of the pets we adopt out are up to date on their shots, and are spayed or neutered. Dogs are heartworm negative and on preventative medicine. Cats are feline leukemia and aids negative. We strive to adopt out healthy and well balanced animals, but from time to time if health problems exist, medications are needed, or there are behavioral issues, this will be fully disclosed prior to adopion.
