The Muskingum County Dog Pound & Kennel is responsible for answering calls from the general public about dogs running loose or at large in the Muskingum County area. The dog warden picks up the animal and brings it back to the dog pound/kennel. The dog is kept at the pound/kennel for 3 days. If the owner doesn't claim the dog, then the dog is officially up for adoption. The Muskingum County Dog Pound & Kennel receives several dogs weekly. Unfortunately, our facility can only hold so many dogs at one time and euthanasia is the only option. Many dogs only have a few weeks to live. Our goal, with your help, is to adopt as many dogs as possible into loving homes or to rescue groups. Please have your pets spayed or neutered.
