C.A.R.E. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals. We are a "No-kill" animal shelter. Our mission is to rescue as many adoptable animals from "Death Row" as we can properly care for. To provide medical treatment for sick or injured stray animals. To combine an aggressive spay/neuter program with a high volume adoption program while providing quality lifetime care for unadopted pets.
C.A.R.E. shelters between one and two hundred homeless animals. We rely entirely on the public's kindness and donations to care for our animals. We are not state or city funded. All donations are tax deductible. If you would like to make a donation please send it to: C.A.R.E., P.O. Box 215, Aurora, MO 65605
We also have a thrift store right next door to the Adoption Center. Care's Closet will accept your gently used or new items during our store hours.

Additional adoption info
.All of our pets are spayed/neutered and are up to date on vaccinations before they are put up for adoption.
Our adoption fee is $100, non-refundable, which helps to cover veterinarian fees. Check out our facebook or website though, we are constantly running adoption specials! There is an Adoption contract to fill out as well as a return policy to sign. Most of our animals are ready to go home with you that day. If there are "multiple applications being taken" for a particular animal we will conduct phone interviews to determine the best placement for our animal. You are welcome to come to our Adoption Center located at 1328 W. Sunshine, located between Fort and Kansas Expressway. Our hours are 10:00am-6:00pm every day of the week.
