Oswego County SPCA - OCAWL

Animal rescue in Fulton, NY

The Oswego County SPCA - OCAWL was founded in 1972 as an organization dedicated to rescuing animals in need, providing them with the necessary medical care (if needed), housing them and loving them until they find their forever home. If an animal is not deemed "adoptable", we keep the animal in our care for its lifetime. We truly are a no-kill organization. We receive no federal or state funding. We run solely on the donations of our generous supporters. All of people that work with our organization are volunteer. We have no home office or paid employees. Virtually every penny raised goes directly for the care of our animals.

Additional adoption info

An application for adoption must be completed. Questions such as whether you live in a house or apartment, whether you have current pets, who your veterinarian is, etc. are asked. After review of this application, the foster parent will conduct a phone (or in person) interview with the potential adopter. If all seems good, the adopter can come and meet the cat or dog to see if they are a match for each other. For a dog, a home visit is required to make sure the situation is suited for that particular dog. If so, an adoption agreement is completed and signed. The adoption fee for a cat or kitten is $75. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $150-175.
