Ron's Rescued Rascals Inc started out reforming the Trumbull Co Dog Pound, one of the worst in Ohio. Finally after 3 years the local volunteers started to help, offering a PRE POUND PROGRAM to the Trumbull and other surrounding county residents by assisting them with vetting their pets and organizing adoptions rather than take them to the Trumbull Dog Pound.
We are an ethical pet rescue group with a small number of volunteers specializing in small breed hypo-allergenic dogs. If you would like to help save dogs, VOLUNTEERS are needed to work from home on the PC, drive our dogs to the vets, post our rescues on internet sites, and PET SIT/FOSTER for about 4 weeks while we find approved adopters for the pets. Without fosters we can't save dogs! These dogs are homeless until adopted. Donations welcome to pay pal ronsrescued@aol.com and supply donations welcomed and needed!
We also rescue puppy mill dogs, adults and puppies. Plus we have a foster to adopt program.

This rescue doesn’t have any adoptable pets right now – check out adoptable pets nearby or start a custom pet search below.
Most of our foster homes are located in Ohio. We do adopt to adjoining states. YOU must drive to where our foster dog is located to meet them and adopt them. Our foster families need to meet you and the dog and see if they bond with you and agree to adopt.
We need an application to contact you. You may email us with questions, and we try to answer within a few days, we are an all volunteer organization. We do our best to keep up. IF you have not heard from us within a week, please email us. Thank you for considering adopting/rescuing/saving a dog in need.
Additional adoption info
There is no perfect dog but we do have dogs that, with love and patience, can become the perfect dog for you. Rescue dogs have unknown histories so we assess each dog's reaction to other dogs, cats, men, women and children, if available. We also work on potty training and other behaviors that the dog may need to learn. As we evaluate the dog, we develop some specific criteria based on input from the foster families. We then try to match the dog with an appropriate adoptive family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, your family may not match the dog's criteria. We are not trying to make adoption difficult; we are trying to make each adoption a lifelong success. We want you to be happy with the dog you adopt and we want the dog to be happy with his new family.
Please also check your local shelters. We want you to rescue any dog that needs saved.
Please don't buy from pet stores. Doing so only supports the puppy mill industry.
Please do not apply if you are not ready to adopt within 3 weeks. We are an all-volunteer organization. Our dogs go quickly and we cannot hold dogs for any length of time.
choose a dog from our list of available dogs
complete an on line application or write us for an email copy & submit it.
we will send you an email within 24 hours confirming we have received your application.
our volunteers will review your application along with the dog's criteria
we will contact your vet, groomer and/or personal references to verify your information
we will contact you to discuss the chosen dog or make suggestions of other dogs you may want to consider.....we keep your application on file for a year.
within 7 working days of receipt of your application, our processor will call to chat with you to explain the next steps, answer any questions, and refer your application to the foster family.
when you match/chose a dog, we will have that foster family call you to give you detailed specifics of that dog.
should you both agree you would like to meet this dog for possible adoption, you and the foster parent can arrange a time for you to meet the dog. We ask that you come within 2 weekends of being notified you are approved. We cannot hold dogs for any length of time as other dogs are being disposed of while rescue/foster space is unavailable,
we may choose to do a home visit: we will make an appointment to come meet you and your family at your home to evaluate if the dog will fit in your lifestyle.
your appointment with the dog is your final approval, if you and the dog like each other, you may take the dog home with you that day. If you decide you want to adopt the dog, but cannot immediately take him with you, then we require that you leave a deposit to hold the dog for a limited time to return to pick it up shortly.
we know there is an adjustment time for dog and adopter, so we provide follow-up advice thru the transition period. We highly recommend you take advantage of this service and review all the information we provide in the adoption packet.
