If you have questions about an animal for adoption please call the Hanover County Animal Pound at 804-365-6485 or come visit us during the following hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 9:00-4:30 Wednesday from 9:00-6:00 Saturday from 10:00-3:00.

The Hanover County Pound Facility offers dogs, cats and other animals for adoption. Only Hanover County residents or adjoining County residents are able to adopt non-sterilized animals. By state law, anyone who adopts a dog or cat must have their new pet sterilized. Any Virginia citizen may adopt animals that have already been sterilized. All forms needed to verify sterilization are available at the Animal Control Facility.
