Countryside Animal Rescue

Animal rescue in Anderson, IN

Countryside Animal Rescue is a group of local citizens concerned with the welfare and treatment of dogs and cats in Madison County and surrounding areas. We believe education and other outreach programs will heighten awareness of pet over-population and animal health care needs in our community.

Thousands of dogs and cats are unwanted or abandoned each year. Our belief is that all pets should be spayed or neutered to reduce the number of discarded pets. Our education commitment is to promote a stronger understanding for the necessity of proper care, medical treatment, training and the costs of pet ownership.

Countryside Animal Rescue offers initiatives and resources to coordinate low-cost spay/neuter programs and clinics, along with seeking financial support to those pet owners that may not be able to afford traditional methods.

Through our educational programs and outreach ventures, we focus on issues that may prevent the process of pet owners ultimately choosing the undesirable options of abandoning or no longer wishing to keep their pet. Unwanted pets eventually become the responsibility of animal welfare groups or government agencies that are overburdened with these dogs and cats.

Countryside Animal Rescue works with a network of foster homes to provide care, housing, food, medical assistance and behavioral training for dogs and cats in need. Our foster program provides a loving, caring ‘home’ environment as an alternative to kennel conditions in shelter facilities utilized by some animal welfare groups. Our foster program enables our funds to go directly to the animals’ needs rather than incur expenses for the overhead of maintaining a structure and its associated costs.

Our adoption programs and placement services assist in locating pets that will be life-long match to insure a forever home for a dog or cat. We offer lost and found services, pet identification and other programs to reduce the number of stray, lost or homeless pets.

Countryside Animal Rescue is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization operated solely by volunteers and primarily on the kindness of our donors and members
