Animal shelter in Chester, VT

The Animal Rescue and Protection Society, Inc. (TARPS) opened its doors in the Fall of 2000. Located in Chester Vermont, TARPS is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill shelter. We are manned solely by volunteers as a no-kill shelter. Our funding is by the generous donations of people and businesses in our local and state-wide community.

Our Mission Statement:
- To rescue and care for stray and abandoned household pets.
- Promote the importance of spaying and neutering.
- Place animals with loving adoptive homes.
- Education the public in the proper care and nutrition of all animals.
- Rehabilitate feral cats and work towards a common sense approach to trap, neuter, and release programs.

We rely solely on our volunteers to keep our shelter operational. Through their dedication and long hours, we are able to raise money, keep our shelter clean, and our cats healthy and happy. If you would like to join our efforts please go to our web site www.TARPSAnimalShelterVt.org
