Shelter FAQs

The Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc. (ARF) is a non-profit tax exempt humane society serving central Georgia.

Additional adoption info

The adoption fee donation is $100 for a cat, dog, puppy or kitten. The adoption fee includes spay or neuter and rabies vaccination. The adoption fee for any animal that required special medical care, such as treatment for heartworms, may be higher, and will usually be noted in the description.

All pets are altered prior to or at the time of adoption. We only adopt pets to Georgia residents. Adopters sign a legal contract agreeing to provide proper care of their new pet and to abide by animal control laws.

Here are a few of our requirements:

1. All adopters will be asked to fill out an adoption application.
2. Adopters must be at least 21 years old
3. If you rent, you must show proof that you are allowed pets, such as your rental agreement. If there is a pet deposit, please show us your receipt that this has been paid.
4. Be prepared to take your pet home with you - bring a leash for all dogs, regardless of age or size (or a pet taxi for small puppies and dogs) and a pet taxi for all kittens and cats.
