American Bullmastiff Association Rescue - TX

Dog rescue in Houston, TX

The purpose of the American Bullmastiff Association Rescue Service is to find homes for unwanted Bullmastiffs that we find either in shelters or occasionally abandoned at vets or take in as owner surrenders from people whose lifestyle has changed. We are not a placement service for our members' unwanted or returned dogs. We will accept owner surrenders from people who have purchased their dogs at pet shops or backyard breeders, but typically the dogs we place are of unknown origin and unknown age. All are neutered before they are placed and given the vet care they need so they can be represented as being in good health.

Additional adoption info

We rarely have dogs under the age six months of age and the average age of the dogs we place is around 2 years. Anyone interested in adopting a dog must first complete and return the adoption application to the National Rescue Coordinator Virginia Rowland. We prefer that it be done on line if at all possible. Anyone adopting a dog must pay a fee which will reimburse the Rescue Service for the expenses involved in adopting the dog from the shelter and getting the necessary veterinary attention. The average adoption fee is $400 with reduced fees for elderly dogs, and slightly higher for very young dogs.
